The Inland Empire chapters of Black Sheep; HDFC and Bikers For Christ hosted the 2nd Annual Ray “Eagle” Ramirez Poker Run BBQ to raise money for the families of deceased bikers. The recipient who benefited from this year’s run was Leonard Wallenda, who lost his son Grant Wallenda as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Grant Wallenda, a sophomore at Palomar Junior College in San Marcos, California passed away after sustaining injuries from a motorcycle crash on June 2, 2007. He was headed to the Big Bear Chopper Run with his dad, Leonard, and a close family friend, Terry McGuire.

Grant was a sports enthusiast and excelled in almost every sport imaginable. He loved motorcycling at Glamis, surfing, kickboxing, golf, off- road racing, target shooting, snow boarding, downhill mountain bike riding, volleyball, water polo and many more!!

Grant will be remembered by everyone who knew him as the most successful player in the history of the West Valley High School “Mustang” Football Team. He was All-County, All-Star Invitee and Top-Sac Man of Riverside County in the 2005 season. He aspired to join the Coast Guard after graduating from college.

A percentage of this year’s annual benefit run helped to fund the Grant Wallenda Football Scholarship Fund, which has been established in Grant’s memory to help future football athletes pursue their dreams.
