The Inland Empire Black Sheep; Harley-Davidson’s For Christ in conjunction with Bikers For Christ hosted a poker run in 2007 to raise funds for the family of Ray “Eagle” Ramirez. The funds collected covered the cost of chartering a boat for Ray’s family to spread his ashes out to sea – a place Ray loved to be.
The intention from the beginning was not only to help provide funds for this family, but to make it into an annual event to benefit other families of deceased bikers with their wishes in their loved ones memory.
Ray “Eagle” Ramirez was a member and Vice President of the Black Sheep Inland Empire Chapter. He was struck on his motorcycle and died on December 2, 2006 in front of the Starbucks located on Washington Avenue in Colton, California. Kim McGuire, an employee of that Starbuck’s, witnessed the accident and ran to Ray’s side. She held his hand and talked to him while he slipped into the arms of Jesus.
Ray, a marine veteran who served in the Vietnam Era, is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda, 3 Children Amy, Emmett and Joe, 7 grandchildren, his parents and brothers and sisters.
